OAS-page-bill shops

article-donate-shops

We rely totally on donated items. We take all sorts of ‘Anything and Everything’ and turn it in to cash i.e. ‘Rags to Riches’ – non-saleable textile items are sold to our re-cycling company and suitable items i.e. quilts, towels etc go to the Sanctuary as animal bedding. Working electrical items can be PAT tested by our qualified tester based at our Witney shop, prior to going on sale. We can sell any good quality items.

We also sell furniture and can provide a collection and a delivery service (there is a small charge for delivery). We do need to check prior to acceptance of furniture donations that they are of saleable quality i.e. clean and compliant with fire safety standards. Soft furnishings need to have the fire retardant label attached. Therefore without risk of causing offence we do reserve the right to refuse items, if considered not to be suitable for sale in our shops. In this way we try to avoid incurring a disposal charge for non-saleable items.

So, whether you would like to come and make a regular commitment to enjoy some time to become a team member, or if you could donate some items that you no longer need in your life, or just to come and seek that ‘Special Item’ in our shops, there is always some way that you can help support our Sanctuary. Leslie and Ken would be happy to welcome you to browse in the Didcot OAS charity shop situated at 122 the Broadway. We have a large selection of competitively priced goods with a back room full of children's toys, books and clothes plus small items of furniture.

Our amazing group of loyal and dedicated volunteers help keep the wheels turning at 122 and we would welcome new volunteers to join our happy band. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in helping in the shop. We are always on the lookout for new volunteers, whether you can offer us your support on a weekly basis or maybe occasionally offer to pick up donations from people's homes, help with PAT testing or basic DIY We receive amazing support from the people of DIdcot and surrounding villages who talk proudly of their pleasure in shopping in such a friendly atmosphere and supporting a local animal sanctuary that is very dear to their hearts.

We really appreciate the wide range of donations we receive and would be more than happy to help with unloading your car if you have unwanted items to donate. We have a loading bay at the rear of the shop if you have a large amount or find difficulty in parking on the road. We are also able to take towels, blankets and pet items for the sanctuary if you are unable to get to Stadhampton. So please pop in and see us if only to say hello. We look forward to meeting you.

Thank you from Leslie and Ken (the managers) and everyone at the OAS Didcot shop.
