We are delighted to share the story of one of our younger supporters, Laya, who has set herself an amazing challenge to raise money for the animals at Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary.
Having just turned 13, Laya decided to mark the occasion by taking on 13 miles in 13 days, starting on 10 August and completing her challenge on 22 August.
Laya originally set herself a fundraising target of £100 – and she has already reached it! We think that is a fantastic achievement, and every additional pound she raises will help us provide food, shelter, veterinary treatment and care for the dogs, cats and rabbits who come through our doors.
Challenges like Laya’s mean a great deal to our small charity. As well as raising vital funds, they remind us just how many wonderful people in our community care about animals in need and want to make a difference.
At only 13 years old, committing to covering a mile every day for 13 days is something Laya should be incredibly proud of.
