“Where is this year going?!”
We hope this finds you well and that you had a fantastic July. Honestly, where are these months disappearing to? It feels like just five minutes since we sent out our last update. July brought the heat – quite literally – with a little midsummer heatwave, but our amazing team and volunteers have been working tirelessly throughout, caring for animals in all shapes and sizes.
Whether you’ve been planning a summer holiday, juggling school holidays, or just trying to stay cool, we hope you’ve managed to take some time for yourself too.
Meanwhile, over at OAS, it’s been another hugely rewarding month – and we’re delighted to share that 68 animals were rehomed in July! From squishy kittens to bonded dogs and bouncy bunnies, here’s the full round-up of who went home last month…
🐾 The Great Cat & Kitten Exodus
Anyone who’s been keeping an eye on our social pages will know we’ve been caring for lots of pregnant cats and kittens lately – so a huge shout out to our ever-growing roster of fosterers for the unwavering care and high standards they give to their latest tiny charges.
It’s no surprise then that many cats and kittens feature in the rehoming list again this month, starting with Nero and Luna, two gorgeously squeezable kittens. They were followed home just hours later by Darwin, Waffle, and another delightful pair, Willow & Teddy.
Then came feline rehoming mania:
- Pancake, Pippa & Pickles, Lord Thomas, Mia, Hades & Apollo, Echo, Lunar & Solar, Nala & Simba, Dorothy & Rufus, Goujon, Willow, Tucker, Luna, Cricket and Pearl all went home over the next few days.
Later in the month, the cat exodus continued in full force with:
- Ruby & Betsy, Castle, Clementine, Kiki, Chester, Leo, Juno, Rory & Luna (who went home as a trio! 🐾), Cali & Cleo, Ziggy, Zeus, Poppy, Kat, Gracie, Jax and Slippers.
And yes – the cats and kittens just kept on purring into new homes right through to the end of July:
- Luna & Blue, Jules & Athena, Chiquita, Sam, Scrabble, River, Cosmo, Haystacks & Aira, another Luna, Babs & Barnaby (Mum and son), and Oreo & Koka.
🐰 Binky Bonanza: Bunnies on the Move
Amidst all this feline flurry, a pair of lovely adolescent bunnies, Sia and Ram, broke the trend and bounced off to their forever home early in the month. 💛
🐶 Happy Tails: Dogs Who Found Their People
Then came a beautiful moment – Albie and Rosie, a bonded pair of dogs, were adopted by a couple who fell instantly in love with this adorable duo.
Amongst all the cats, Nola the pretty Staffy also managed to bag herself the perfect home – and toward the end of the month, Luna the Rottie and Betsy the Staffy joined the lucky list too.
