Adoption Update – December 2024

It’s already December, and festive feelings are in the air! With the colder weather upon us and even a touch of snow dusting the sanctuary, it’s been a magical yet busy time here.

As always, the team has been working tirelessly, and November proved to be another record-breaking month for us.

In fact, 2024 has already been our best year yet for rehoming, and last month, we hit an incredible milestone: over 700 adoptions – by far the most in our history!

And with several more little ones reserved to head to their forever homes this month, that number will only keep climbing.

November itself saw a whopping 45 animals rehomed.

The first to fly the nest were two adorable kittens, Red and Loki, who charmed their way into a new home in no time.

As usual, our feline friends dominated the list of adoptions, including Kora, Doris, Morris, Pickle, Cosmo, Mittens, Faith, Nelly, Missy, Maxwell, Tom, Bea, Pea, Esso, Shell (because why not?), Mohawk, Cali, Faith, Bee and Bumble (a sweet mother-daughter duo), Juno, Tiger, Kimmy, Tex, Narla, Clementine (who had her kittens here), Sheila, Chip, Dale, and Crunchie.

Each name reflects a unique little character that now has a brighter future.

Among the bunnies, two of the Coffee bunnies, Affogato and Ristretto, went home together (and we suspect their new names may be a bit less espresso-themed!). Joey and Marty, another bonded pair, also hopped off to a loving forever home.

Our dogs also had their share of new beginnings. The first to leave was Chad, a gorgeous Whippet crossbreed.

Soon after, Mr. Pickle and Ringo, two energetic Jack Russells, found their match. Charlie, a charming Shih-Tzu, and Minnie, a delightful Pug crossbreed, also joined the ranks of the rehomed.

These successes would not be possible without you, our dedicated supporters, our amazing team, paw-some volunteers, and the wonderful families who open their hearts and homes to our animals.

Your support has made this record-breaking year a reality, and we cannot thank you enough.

Here’s to a December filled with even more joy, adoptions, and festive cheer!
