Adoption Update – July 2025

Can you believe we’re halfway through the year already? But we’re not slowing down!

Despite battling some scorching weather in June, our team has been working tirelessly to keep all the animals cool, comfortable and happy while continuing to match them with their perfect forever homes. This is what we live for – those tail-wagging, purring, nose-wiggling happy endings. And June certainly didn’t disappoint.

In total, 54 animals found their new families this month – a fantastic milestone to celebrate!

Let’s take a look at some of the lovely stories from June…

Starting strong on June 1st, we waved goodbye to two kittens named after literary legends – Bronte and Austen – who were the first to leave. That very same day, Chutney the rabbit packed up his hutch and headed off to his new home (he’ll be back soon for bonding!), and we also found time to rehome two delightful pairs of kittens: Moo & Stripe and Max & Obie. Not a bad start to the month!

As the days rolled on, our cattery residents were gently roused from their sunny snoozes and popped into carriers ready to begin their next adventures. The feline friends who headed off include:

Kaylee & Spring, Harpo, Mimi & Minnie, Bubba & Coco, Daphne & Dilly, Louie, Boo, Mittens, Alice, Luna, Willow, Rosie, Honey, Finley & Jasper, Jimmy, Logan, Toffee, Stella, Eden, Fern & Willow, Nova, Arrax & Sunfyre, Linguini, Mavis, and Melon & Simon.
What a line-up – and what lucky families welcoming these brilliant cats and kittens!

Over in the dog kennels, the first to be adopted was the elegant Layla the Italian Greyhound, quickly followed by the fabulously named Roar’ry the Boxer (yes, that’s how it’s spelled!). Next out the door were Rocky the Lurcher, Gandalf the Bulldog, Judy the Border Collie, Otis the Beagle, Audrey (our big-hearted large breed pup), and Rufus the cheeky Jack Russell.

And let’s not forget the bunnies!
June saw Susie find her new home, along with the first pair from a special group we call The Buns from Down Under – say hello to new lives for Wallaby & Roo!

To all our incredible adopters – thank you for opening your homes and hearts. To our donors and supporters, your generosity keeps us going. And to our dedicated staff and volunteers – none of this would happen without your endless care and commitment.

Here’s to many more lives changed in the second half of the year. Onwards! 🐾
