We hope you had a wonderful May – enjoyed the two bank holidays with your loved ones (both human and furry!) and managed to stay relatively dry despite the ever-changeable British weather. We might have jinxed things by going on about how stunning April was!
Still, while the skies may have been moody, May was anything but gloomy here at the Sanctuary. It turned out to be a truly fruitful month for rehoming, particularly for our dogs – and we couldn’t be happier.
In total, 49 animals found their forever homes, including 15 dogs, 32 cats and kittens, and 2 rabbits. That’s 49 new beginnings, wagging tails, and warm laps to curl up on.
Our first dog to go home was Mack, the handsome lurcher, setting the tone for a brilliant month. He was followed closely by Ace, a Springer Spaniel cross with bags of energy and love to give.
Then came a whole parade of pups later in the month: Bingo, Reeces, Ruby, Aslan, Thea, Fudge, Zeus, two dogs named Hugo, Hazel, Forest, Chester and Archie.
What a lineup!
As usual, our cats kept pace with their own rehoming bonanza.
It all began with Binx, who set off to their new home at the start of the month. Then came a lovely stream of feline friends, including:
Marble & Jenga, Dingbat (a huge yay for this one!), Jude, Patricia & Bonnie, Nicky, Elsie, Luna, Choux & Croissant, Jojo & Lola, Baz & Taz, Jupiter, Benji & Jaxx, Pablo, Stella, Athena & Jules, Neville, Amy, Margot, Frank, Cookie, Sebastian, Pebbles and Rocky & Bear.
Finally, two of our sweet rabbits also found homes this May – Ginny, a female lop, and Dolly, a lovely crossbreed.
We’re thrilled they’ve both landed softly in loving new surroundings.
Thank you, as always, to our incredible community of adopters, supporters, and followers.
Every rehoming is a team effort – from the volunteers cleaning pens and walking dogs, to those sharing posts, donating supplies, or simply cheering us on.
Here’s to even more happy endings in June!
