Adoption Update – May 2024

Welcome to May, where we’re greeted with not one, but two bank holidays—but even though the calendar says “holiday,” the work doesn’t stop at the Sanctuary!

And good riddance, April; you were as wet and miserable as a soggy sock. Here’s hoping May brings us some sunnier days for those daily dog walks and exercise sessions with our wonderful team.

Speaking of which, April saw us say goodbye to 58 animals, sending them off to new pastures.

Apricot and Cinnamon, a dynamic duo of Cavapoos, led the pack out the door last month. Then came a parade of pups: Bea, Pedro, Lucky, Rusty, Eddie (who’s now roommates with another former resident, Coco), Biscuit, Freddie, and Penny.

Let’s not forget about Bailey, the dashing 9-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who found a perfect match with someone who knows their way around the quirks of the breed.

But it wasn’t just the dogs; 37 cats and kittens also found their forever homes.

Take Jezebel, for instance. She went from grumpy cattery dweller to the belle of the ball under the care of her new human, who had the patience of a saint and the skill of a cat whisperer.

And how about Lavender and Daisy, the mother-daughter duo? They opted for a joint venture into domestic bliss, though Lavender might have second thoughts once Daisy hits her “teenage” years!

Now, brace yourselves for the onslaught of kitten chaos—Cupcake, Iris, King, Ernie, Renee & Arabella, Dave, Daisy & Danny, and Lenny are all on the loose, exploring every nook and cranny of their new abodes. Good luck to the furniture and shoelaces!

As for the rabbits, Luna & Jessie, Turbo, Hazel, and the one and only Terry hopped off to their new homes, proving once again that bunnies bring joy wherever they go.

Massive thanks to all the fantastic adopters who welcomed these furry friends into their lives. We couldn’t do it without you!
