☀️ Sunshine, two bank holidays and tails wagging all round…
It’s always sunny at the sanctuary, especially when 56 animals find their way to loving new homes! April was an absolute cracker – and with May bringing longer days and more chances to get outdoors with our furry friends, we couldn’t be more excited.
Here’s how the rehoming magic happened last month:
🐰 Rabbits stole the show in April, with 12 hoppy endings!
The fabulous trio Smudge, Marshmallow and Peanut were the first to bounce off to their new home, followed closely by bonded pair Mango & Pepper.
Simba went off to make a new bunny bestie, while Benji was expertly bonded here on site with his new pal Binky.
Later in the month, our mythically-named trio Heracles, Triton and Atlas also found a forever home together – now going by Nimrod, Nimbus and Nib!
🐶 11 dogs found the love they deserve, too.
Ben the Shih-Tzu was first out the gates, settling beautifully. Pat the ex-racing Greyhound was hot on his heels (though not literally – but he probably could have been!).
Bolly, our lovely 10-year-old crossbreed, followed soon after. Puppies Cooper and Olive went home together, Lucky and Dora – two lovely Lurchers – found homes separately, and then came Teddy the Yorkie and Murphy the Jack Russell, both now living their best little lives.
🐱 And as always, the cats came out in force – 33 of them!
Cassie & Raquel, Catherine & Leonard, Tiger, Rory, Russell, Bea & Nugget, Mittens & Panda, Kansas, Simba, Amelia, another Rory (yes, two!), Simon, Stormy, Oreo & Crumble, Greg, Shadow & Whiskers, Valerie, James Bond, Zoe, Bertie & Mouse, George – and more.
Special shoutouts go to Danny, Jed and Scarlett:
Danny and Jed both struggled with the cattery environment, but thanks to some wonderful, patient adopters, they’ve landed in calm, loving homes where they can finally relax.
And sweet Scarlett – a dedicated mum who arrived with five kittens and a severe eye condition – is now recovering wonderfully in the best foster-to-adopt home we could have hoped for.
After surgeries, specialist care, and lots of love from our vet team and foster carer, she’s finally living the life she always deserved 💛
🌟 Thank you to our entire team, foster carers, supporters and donors – none of this would be possible without your continued kindness and care.
Here’s to more sunshine and even more happy endings in May! 🐾
