Adoption Update – November 2024

As we wave goodbye to October and Halloween, we hope the influx of trick-or-treaters didn’t cause too much stress for your furry friends.

Now, with fireworks season here, we understand it can be a challenging time for pets.

Keep your animals indoors during displays, close curtains to minimise flashes, and try playing calming music to help them relax through the noise. Let’s work together to make this season as peaceful as possible for our beloved companions.

With the clocks going back, our days are shorter, making it dark earlier—yet the Sanctuary continues to buzz with life, and our incredible team keeps everything running smoothly. Despite the added challenges of darker, colder days, our dedicated staff go above and beyond to care for each of our animals, ensuring every pet feels safe, warm, and loved. Their hard work shines through even the longest nights, and we’re so grateful for their unwavering commitment.

Despite the chilly October weather, we’re thrilled to report a successful month with 74 pets rehomed!

The month kicked off with a fond farewell to a beautiful black cat named Amora, and before long, a total of 53 cats and kittens had found their forever homes.

Here are just a few of the names that graced our sanctuary this month—some may have been renamed by now, but they’ll always have a place in our hearts: Gladys, Delilah, Lillian, Rosie & Jim (if you remember the show!), Nala, Coco & Chanel, Indie, Sprite, Jazz, Josiah, Silas, John, Colin & Henry, Alaska, Jennifer, Dippy, Polly, Brie, Fisher, Boris, Glenda, Lil John, Robbie, Norris, Roo, Domino, Binx, Tiggy, Jaffa, Satsuma, Orange, Tangerine (from Clementine’s litter), Gizmo & Weetabix, Pippa, Tilly & Molli, Willow, Jasper and Dora, Tatty (yes, really!), and Elmo.

Our rabbit residents also had a lovely success story: Merry & Bright, a bonded pair who arrived last Christmas, have finally found a family to call their own.

Rupert, a young crossbreed, was also happily bonded and is now settled in his new home.

On the dog front, our first to be rehomed in October were Mikey & Ozzie, two ex-racing greyhounds, followed by 13 other pups, including Sinbad, Bear, Russell, Squish (who really lives up to his name!), Coco, Maisie, Bullseye the bulldog, and Monty the Labrador.

To everyone who chose to adopt, thank you for opening your hearts and homes to these wonderful animals.

We’re grateful to be part of each of these adoption stories, and we know these pets will bring you as much joy as they brought to our team.
