As we welcome the final quarter of 2025, the crisp autumn air and changing leaves signal a shift in seasons, but at Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary, our commitment to finding loving homes for animals in need remains as strong as ever.
While the cooler weather might tempt us to slow down, our teams and dedicated volunteers continue to work tirelessly to ensure every animal in our care finds their perfect match.
September has been another remarkable month for OAS, with 58 animals successfully rehomed thanks to the incredible dedication of our staff, volunteers, and veterinary team. We’re immensely grateful to everyone who has opened their hearts and homes to these deserving animals.
It will come as no surprise to our regular supporters that cats and kittens once again account for the lion’s share of adoptions this month.
The ongoing kitten crisis continues to present challenges for sanctuaries across the country, and we’re no exception.
An impressive 54 felines found their forever homes in September alone. This issue underscores the vital importance of neutering, which is why we’re actively working to support and promote neutering programmes throughout Oxfordshire.
By preventing unwanted litters, we can help reduce the overwhelming number of cats and kittens coming into rescue centres each year.
