As we slip into September and wave goodbye to summer – or at least brace ourselves for those chillier mornings – we’ve been looking back on August with huge smiles. Why? Because it was one of our biggest rehoming months on record.
An incredible 70 animals found their forever homes in August – a truly heartwarming achievement made possible by our adopters, supporters and volunteers.
That’s 70 new beginnings, 70 wagging tails or purrs of contentment, and 70 families whose lives have been changed for the better.
Of this magnificent number, 60 were cats and kittens, so here is their roll of honour… Peter, Dolly, Dumbo, Hathi, Tia, Milo, Checkers, Nala, Ned, Sukie, Tiggy, Chorizo, Pistachio, Jellybean, Otto, Coco, Simba, Juniper, Buddy, Willow, Merlot, Olive, Koda, Rocker, Walter, Pookie JR, Peaches, Enzo, Bramble, Reggie, Ronnie, Daisy, Oreo, Tango, Ernie, James, Marty, Bindi, Peter Pettigrew, Lulu, Lottie, Lilly, Spook, Ziggy, Ozzy, Pepper, Heidi, O’Malley, Cleo, Lyra Eileithyia, Duchess, Toby, Dexter, Pip, Bella, Inky, Nacho, Luna, Layla, Dreamfyre.
20-year-old Inky is certainly one of the most touching adoptions this month, especially since she recently lost her lifelong partner.
Two rabbits, Lance and Matilda, also found happiness by being bonded with new partners.
Finally, eight dogs are now busy settling into their homes – Lady, Tanner, Jellybean, Maggie, Koda, Ava, Ted, and Rummie.
Tanner is one of the dogs receiving extra post-adoption support. He’s lucky to have such a kind and dedicated owner working with him to help him feel safe and secure in his new life.
As ever, we want to thank every single person who adopted, supported, or cheered us on.
August showed just what can be achieved when our community comes together – 70 animals given the gift of a forever home.
