Tigger & Arthur

From: £5.00 / month

Tigger and Arthur are our newest livestock residents. They are male Nubian goats and were born in 2016.

They came to us because they kept escaping their farm enclosure and were becoming a nuisance so were going to be put down. We built a higher fence for them and they’ve not even attempted to try and escape. Obviously, they’re getting lots of love from the staff.

Did you know:

  • The Anglo-Nubian is a British breed of domestic goat. It originated in nineteenth century from cross breeding between native British goats and a mixed population of large lop-eared goats imported from India, the Middle East and North Africa
  • Nubians are remarkable in temperate zones of agriculture in being able to deal with temperatures as low as 0 °F (−18 °C) with open faced shelters.
  • They readily attach to their new human owners with simple neck and side stroking. Nubians love human interaction and will call for their owner.

About Tigger & Arthur

They are both very friendly, sweet natured and very funny to watch with the other goats. They have the advantage of being able to balance very well on their hind legs in order to reach the tasty leaves on the trees. Our other goats are not amused!

They have a very distinctive call, especially when their food is being prepared nearby.

After a careful introduction to their new goat friends, they are settling in well and appear to be thriving here. We’re sure they’ll become firm favourites with our visitors.
