Angel Finds a Heavenly Forever Home!

Here at Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary, we have a no destruction and no refusal policy, which means we often don’t get cute little puppies that everyone can easily adopt.

We are very proud to announce that this month we bid a bittersweet farewell to Angel 💜😇🐶

Angel had been in our care for some time, following a prior rehoming which sadly revealed her to have extreme separation anxiety. Naturally this made Angel a struggle to place because she was looking for a very special home with someone that had a lot of time and patience to devote to her rehabilitation.

As with all our animals, we never give up hope that the right home is out there.

A couple of months ago it was Angel’s turn when a lovely lady paid a visit saying she wanted a female friend for her male Collie. As if this wasn’t promising enough, she also had experience with separation anxiety having previously helped a dog come through it 👍🏻🙂

Fast forward the months and several playdates here at the Sanctuary, and it soon became The Big Day.

Now, we are delighted to report that Angel is settling in very well with her new family. Her owner Rosie has even organised 8 weeks of training with a behaviourist to help Angel develop into the confident dog she deserves to be.

She’s getting on well with her new brother (Taff), and yesterday even went into the garden on her own for a wee! This may seem trivial but for a dog with separation anxiety it is actually a huge step forward 👏🏻

She sleeps downstairs with Taff, and after a first few nights of howling which Rosie ignored, Angel has learnt that it’s all ok because come morning the pack is reunited again 😊

Good girl Angel, and a BIG thank you to Rosie for seeing past her issues and giving her the chance she needs to shine. We wish the 3 of you a lifetime of love and happiness.
