They arrived in our care along with their mum and sister who have since found their forever home. ❤️

This adorable family needed our help after their previous human moved away and left them behind. Thankfully, the new tenant cared for them until we were able to take them in. 😢

They have such gentle personalities and love to keep themselves busy, whether it's playing with their toys or finding new ways to stir up mischief! Either way, you can be sure that having these two in your life will definitely bring a smile to your face. 🥰

Special Adopter/Foster home needed. 🙏

Lovely Penny has found herself at the sanctuary due to her elderly owner not being able to care for her anymore. 😢

This must have been such a heartbreaking decision for Penny's family but sometimes the hardest decision is what's best for their pets. 💔

Penny is young at heart. She’s a spritely 16-year-old Terrier mix who has been nothing but a joy since her arrival. 🥰

She's a warm and welcoming girl that enjoys her daily, sniffy strolls. 💚

The ultimate goal for Penny is to find her a special adopter who can offer her a final forever home. We understand how hard it can be to adopt an older pet but it can also be incredibly rewarding to rescue an animal that desperately needs stability due to their age or declining health. 🙏

Being an older dog Penny's sight and hearing aren't what it was but this doesn't stop her from living life to the max! 🤩

The ideal home for this forever young pup is a nice quiet retirement home, where snoozes and sunbathing can be regularly achieved. 😍

Penny is looking for the following type of home 🏡
✅️ An adult-only home. Visiting children is fine.
✅️ Penny could possibly live with another small, older dog with similar energy levels.
✅️ A home where the access to the garden is ideally step-free.

Our Summertown charity shop is looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to lend a hand! 🐾

🕙 When?
The shop is open from 10 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Saturday, and we’d love your help for just a couple of hours during these times.

📦 What will you be doing?
Sorting through the incredible donations from our wonderful supporters ❤️
Helping us get items ready for sale quickly to fund the vital work of the Sanctuary 🐶🐱🐰

By volunteering, you’ll be making a direct impact on the lives of our animals.

💪 What do we need?
We’re looking for someone fairly fit and strong, as the role involves:
Lifting and moving items 📦
Trips up and down stairs

🌟 What’s in it for you?
You’ll help us change lives—both human and animal!
Stay active and skip the gym fees (and have more fun doing it 😹)

We asked Jonesy’s foster for a few words about this handsome lad to help find him a forever home. 🙏

Jonesy has been with me for two months now and I grow fonder of him every day. He's a wonderful boy with a few personality quirks which make him a rather unique specimen. 🧡

He takes a little while to warm up to strangers but once he does he's one of the most affectionate cats I've ever known. 😻

He loves attention and will insist on being involved with what you're doing, giving you a tap on the arm if your activities don't involve enough pets, just as a reminder. 🤣🤣

He'll engage you in a play fight if he can but responds well to being told no if he takes it too far & will stop & accept pets or play with a toy instead. 🥰

Most of the time he's happy chilling out somewhere soft, favourite places include curled on a lap, making biscuits on a blanket or attempting to co-opt a pillow for a night. 😴

He's got some of the usual orange cat tendencies including the tendency to show love with kisses and nibbles. 😘

His medication needs couldn't be simpler, he needs a dose of thyronorm twice a day. The medicine comes as a liquid and can be mixed into a liquid treat which he laps up along with his breakfast and dinner. 🧡

My home has been full of love and laughter since he arrived. I hope you won't overlook this old lad, he really is very special and I know he would bring so much joy & love to the right new home. ❤️

He has Hyperthyroidism and takes daily medication, along with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, which doesn’t require medication. Both are pre-existing conditions and are not covered by insurance.

Scirocco still hasn’t had his human companion come forward for him 😢

He was handed in as a stray cat after he was found at the VW Milton garage near Didcot on Monday 6th January. Despite never being seen in this location, he had been hanging around all weekend. 😔

This is a very busy area being situated between a dual carriageway and a busy railway line. Understandably, the team were very worried for his safety. 👏

Please meet little Bridget ❤️

Bridget arrived in our care this morning after she was handed to our friends at The Hart Veterinary Centre in Bicester & Aylesbury. Sadly, she was found in a bin. 💔

She's only 8-12 weeks old and has already been let down by humans, discarded as if her life means nothing!! There are zero excuses for anyone to do this. 😢

Thankfully, she was found by a kind member of the public who took her to Hart Vets to ensure she was safe! We can’t even bring ourselves to think what would have happened if she hadn't been found! 😔

Bridget is the fourth cat in less than seven days who has come into our care after being found in a bin. We urge anyone reading this who may be struggling to contact rescues for help rather than dumping their animal. Yes, we are all full but we will add you to our waiting list and help you as soon as possible. 🙏
