Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

Absolutely ecstatic to share with everybody

that our gorgeous Tigra has gone to a loving new home!!

Tigra arrived at the Sanctuary on the 16th June 2010, so he has had a long stay! He has been overlooked many times over the years, often due to his breed and/or size. None of which bothered his lovely new family who came to the Sanctuary as self-confessed Staffy lovers, and specifically hoping to rehome one of our long-termers.ย They also happen to be related to Tanya Rea, avid supporter of OAS and mum to another two of our past Staffy residents.ย Special thank you to Tanya for spreading the word about OAS.

Staff could not be happier for Tigra.ย He is truly a wonderful dog, whose big waggly bottom and loving temperament will be missed greatly up here. Indeed, he has been at the Sanctuary longer than a lot of the staff! So his absence will definitely be felt.

Over the years Tigra has been on countless walks with our many volunteer dog walkers; repeatedly being recommended as a “first-time dog to walk”, and often for families with young children due to his sweet and gentle nature.ย We have no doubt his presence will be sorely missed amongst all our volunteers.

Thank you a thousand times to Sharon and Stephen for giving Tigra the chance to finally have a forever home to call his own. Keep in touch!

Sponsoring is a great way to show you care about animals that have nowhere else to go.

We rely heavily on the generosity of the public to help our animals, so by sponsoring for as little as ยฃ5 a month means you wonโ€™t just be helping your sponsor animal but all their friends too! Whilst we try to find homes for all our animals, if this is not possible, the Sanctuary also cares for some residents for the rest of their lives.

This could be for a number of reasons; they might on life long medication, they are perceived as being too old or past experiences may mean they simply are not suited to a home environment or are unsafe to be rehomed as domestic pets.
