Last week Shadow and his brother Whiskers went hom

Last week Shadow and his brother Whiskers went home. ❤️

They joined us after not adapting to having a canine companion in the home. Sadly, Shadow in particular found this very stressful and started showing signs of depression. ☹️

Since arriving in our care, Whiskers has been his adorable self and has been loving all the extra cuddles. 🥰

Shadow on the other hand was still quite stressed and he had resorted to displaying aggressive behaviour when approached. We were certain this was caused by his fear. 💔

Cats typically don’t want to hurt humans but when they are scared some will resort to fear aggression. ☹️

We knew that Shadow needed a special person who was going to give him the time he needed to decompress from a stressful few months. 🙏

Thankfully, along came that special person who took on board how Shadow must be feeling and decided to give the boys the chance they deserved.

You can imagine how happy we were to receive this video after only 48 hours of being home!! ❤️

We are so proud of you Shadow!! Now it’s your turn to live your best life with Whiskers by your side along with your adopted human companion. 😻

Thank you so much to their wonderful adopter for understanding Shadow and for giving them their opportunity to shine! 🥰

We keep saying it but please give the shy and worried cats the opportunity they deserve. It’s the most rewarding thing you can do! ❤️

Darling Rufus is more than ready for his new start! 🥰

Rufus is a typical, Jack Russell with lots of personality and quirks of the breed. ❤️

This wee man knows what he does and doesn't like just like you'd expect from a Terrier 😊

Unfortunately, Rufus's life has been unsettled and this has left him feeling lost. 😢

He will need adopters who can help lift his spirits and help him with his insecurities. 🙏

Forever Home Friday 🐶❤️

We realised we forgot to update you on Comet's progress last year. That's a good sign, his constant improvement makes us forget where he started from and the journey he's achieved! 💖

Comet is more and more confident, in the car, around people, around dogs, and is enjoying life to the fullest. 😍

He has followed us in Brittany, Switzerland, South of France, around Paris, in the Alps, on the slopes of Auvergne's volcanoes. He runs some 3000 km every year. He is living life to the fullest.❤️

Among significant updates, my visually impaired niece has gotten a guide dog, and thanks to Comet's socialisation work, we could have great family vacations with two dogs that got along very well together in the same home. Both dogs developed a good dynamic, with the guide dog demanding more interaction and more guidance from Comet, and Comet, politely telling her to leave him alone! 🥰

He finally had to give up the idea of not being licked in the face though! 🤣

We can safely say he really is living his best life!! ❤️

Can you offer 2-year-old Binx his forever home 🙏

Binx found his way to the sanctuary after his human companions faced significant challenges in affording the veterinary care he needed following a traumatic encounter with another neighbouring cat that left him with a painful wound on his leg. 💔

Thankfully, he has had the veterinary treatment needed and the wound has very nearly healed. He is still wearing his fancy watermelon collar to prevent him from licking the wound! 🙈

He’s a handsome lad even with his watermelon collar on and treats it like a luxury pillow. 😻

All Binx wants is to be loved. He thoroughly enjoys socialising time and will happily roll around on his little bed being even more adorable. 😍

This little lad deserves his chance to shine and we hope his special adopter is reading this post! 🙏❤️

On Monday we had the pleasure of meeting two junior OAS supporters. 🥰

Little did we know they had a surprise for us here at the sanctuary! Over the Easter holidays, they had been busy sorting through some of their toys and decided to sell them to help raise funds for our animals. ❤️

They raised a fantastic £23 👏👏👏

These two gorgeous ladies haven't had any interest!! But we can change that… 🙏

Thirteen-year-old Betsy & eleven-year-old Ruby arrived at the sanctuary after their human companion sadly passed away. 💔

Both the girls can be slightly shy at first to those they don’t know. But in the few weeks they have been in our care, they have made great progress. 🥰

Both enjoy their time when socialising with their human caregivers and once they have made that bond with you then you will see their true personalities. 💖

Betsy & Ruby came into our care on a Gastrointestinal diet. We have been told that Betsy has IBD so this specialised diet will need to be ongoing in their new home. 🐈

The girls are looking for the following type of home 🏡
👤 They can live with children 14+
🐈 They cannot live with other cats
🐶 They cannot live with dogs
🏡 Indoor only or with outdoor access

This queen has what we would call alot of "character" and let's face it, life would be dull if everyone behaved ALL the time! 😉

Can you imagine being dog royalty and finding yourself in kennels? It's a travesty. 😭

Tiggy just has very high standards and demands and quite rightly expects the world to revolve around her. 😍

Terrier lovers, if you know you know!! 😉

But on a more serious note, Tiggy is a wonderful dog, who is warm and affectionate especially with the ladies. Men can be a little scary and she will make them work for her affection in true Jane Austin style. 🤣

We are sure that she will be a fabulous dog in the home and will create a lasting bond with her new adopters. 🥰

Lick-e-Lix to the rescue for our rescue kitties ❤️

When arriving in a cattery environment, some cats find it quite stressful. They can show signs of fear aggression where they resort to attacking as that's their only defence. 😔

Whilst this can be rare, we will always give the animals in our care time to decompress. We do this by giving them time and space to adjust. Allowing them to decide when they are ready to interact with our team. 🥰

Sebastian arrived in our care from our friends at The Neuter Rangers 💜

Seb was quite shut down and didn't want to interact with the team. We gave him the time he needed to decompress and allowed him to tell us when he was ready. The team would sit with him for short but frequent periods and then the Webbox Pet Food Lick-e-Lix came into play!! 💖

Most cats find these irresistible and it allows you to provide treats without invading their space. Here he is being much more relaxed whilst accepting a yummy treat. 😍

We are so proud of all of our nervous cats and this just shows that with time and patience, they will turn that corner. 💖
