Tigger

From: £5.00 / month

Tigger joined us after being politely asked to leave a farm where he’d become a little too good at leading the rest of the herd through gaps in the fence.

He’s our sweetest and gentlest goat, and the quiet mischief-maker of the trio. You’ll usually find him curled up in the stable with his best friend Bailey, or stretching up to pinch the tastiest leaves before Snowey can reach them.

Did you know:

  • Nubian goats are originally from North Africa and the Middle East, and they’re famous for their long floppy ears and Roman noses. They’re also one of the most vocal breeds, though Tigger, being Tigger, mostly keeps his opinions to himself.
  • Goats are ruminants, with four stomach chambers. The largest of these is the rumen, which acts as a huge fermentation vat, breaking down tough plant material that other animals can’t digest.
  • Goats are natural escape artists. They’re intelligent, curious, and have an uncanny talent for finding weaknesses in fences, which is a trait Tigger knows a great deal about.

Tigger’s Story

Tigger came to us after being, quite politely, asked to leave his previous home.

He’d been living on a farm, where he’d discovered a real talent for finding gaps in fences, and an even bigger talent for showing the rest of the herd where those gaps were.

Every escape was led by Tigger. Every round-up ended with Tigger looking faintly pleased with himself.

Eventually, the farm decided it needed a herd that stayed put, and Tigger was shown the door.

Their loss, entirely our gain.

He is, without a doubt, the sweetest and most gentle of our three goats. He doesn’t do drama. He doesn’t pick fights. He just gets on with things quietly and contentedly, in his own Tigger way.

That said, he has one small hobby: winding up Snowey. The best leaves are always on the tallest branches, and Tigger, being a Nubian, is tall. Snowey, being a Pygmy, is not.

You can probably work out the rest. He never gloats. He doesn’t need to.

When Bailey arrived in 2024, Tigger found his best friend.

The two of them are often curled up together in the stable, leaning against each other, looking like they’re hatching something. They usually are.
