Once again we would like to say a massive thank you to all the Pets At Home customers and staff for their amazing fundraising efforts.
The Support Adoption For Pets ‘Santa Paws Appeal’ took place in December 2016 and OAS was very kindly nominated by Pets at Home Abingdon and Pets At Home Cowley. The Abingdon branch managed to raise OAS an incredible £1,835.39 and the Cowley branch raised a pawsome £1,005.09.
Overall 430 Pets at Home stores took part in the ‘Santa Paws’ campaign and they smashed their target of reaching two million Christmas dinners for homeless pets! In just three and a half weeks they raised a record breaking £1,064,064 which is going to rescue shelters across the UK.
We love meeting all the customers and adorable pets that they bring with them and it is a joy spending time chatting with our OAS supporters who pop in to do a bit of shopping. Thank you for donating so generously. You really did give our rescues a wonderful Christmas.

The Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary admits & rehomes over 500 animals every year. Since opening in 1967, we have proudly managed to help over 25,000 animals find their forever home.
At any one time, we have around 60 dogs, 90 cats and kittens plus a number of rabbits and guinea pigs. We also care for our permanent guests of goats, a horse and a little Shetland pony. We were founded to be inclusive, understanding and a place where any animal was welcome.
Many of our animals come to us from difficult backgrounds. Some arrive with acute behavioural needs and some have immediate medical needs. We deal with each case individually and start by earning their trust and understanding their needs.
We hold our ’non-destruction policy’ as a core principle for our work. This means that we will never put a healthy animal down and work to find each one a forever home.
Support Adoption For Pets offers a Partnership Scheme between local animal rescue centres and local Pets at Home stores to raise funds, build awareness and create opportunities for support.
This year Pets at Home, Botley, Cowley and Abingdon have nominated the Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary to be their partnered Charity and they will be hosting a range of fundraising initiatives.
