Adoption Update – October 2022

October was a busy month for adoptions, 30 animals left the sanctuary gates to start their new adventures with their new companions. Some of these are pictured here.

15 cats were adopted, a few of these were kittens who were ready to leave the nest and gain their wings in the big wide world. Thankfully, the kitten’s Mum has also been adopted.

I’m sure many of you will have heard about a young cat called Perry, he came into our care after becoming stressed in his home. He’s a tripod cat with FIV and he comes with a fair amount of cattitude!! Perry was always going to be a difficult rehome but we are pleased to say he went home a few weeks ago and he’s got his paws under the table already.

We also had a lovely couple who opened their hearts to three cats who were in desperate need of an understanding adopter, someone who would understand their past experiences has impacted their trust in humans. Kodiak, Kemper and Frankie are doing well in their forever home and their confidence is growing day by day.

Six dogs also found their forever homes. One of these was Blaze, sadly, Blaze struggled to settle here in the Kennels. After putting out many appeals a wonderful family came to visit her and instantly fell in love, who can blame them!! Blaze has been home a few weeks now and has settled in so well, she’s one very lucky dog.

Then we had Archie and Lottie, they were never going to be here long, and everyone instantly fell in love with them.. to be honest, it wasn’t difficult they are both adorable and super friendly.

Nine rabbits hopped out of the gates to their forever homes. Meryl had a pretty awful start in life having been kept in a small cage in a children’s nursery. To say she was terrified when she arrived is an understatement. But after lots of love and care, she soon found her happy place. We then had the honour of bonding her with her new husbun Mr Bun. They hopped off as newlyweds to start their Bunnymoon.

We also saw Venus & Serena and Bruno & Peter find wonderful homes. Both adopters had researched the correct accommodation for rabbits and should be very proud of their efforts.

Thanks to everyone who made these success stories possible, our team, our adopters, and our supporters. We all play a role in changing their lives for the better.
