Snoop – One Week After Adoption

Here at Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary, we have a no destruction and no refusal policy, which means we often don’t get cute little puppies that everyone can easily adopt.

Sometimes you get dogs that have matured (well… aged at least!) and have bags of character like Snoop!

We’re so happy when an adoption works out and a new forever family fall in love with their new pet.

Here’s Lisa talking about Snoop and his behaviour is testament to the hard work our staff do to prepare all dogs for their new families…

“We’ve had Snoop just over a week now and wanted to let you know how he’s doing so far.

First few days were very strange for him, he looked so sad he took a shine to my youngest Hayley, he followed her everywhere.

He’s definitely settled in quicker than we thought, he doesn’t wait to be asked on the sofa or upstairs and the bed…oh my days he loves our bed, but unfortunately it’s ALL of the bed

He also loves burying his toys and pee’ing up my plants, he’s definitely made the garden his garden!

He gets excited now about walks, we don’t take him too far as he sometimes struggles a bit. Snoop is fantastic off the lead and when he’s finished wee’ing on every single blade of grass he follows right behind you. If you speed up he’s still there keeping up, he does not take notice of other dogs if they bark.

He’s an all-round gentle ole boy, he’s perfect.”
