Adoption Update – October 2021

October is always one of the busiest months of the year for adoptions and 2021 was no exception with 46 furry friends finding new homes this month!

One of the biggest success stories of the month is Munchie; a 4-year-old terrier.

Munchie (pictured top left) had been with us for over a year, due to his complex behavioural needs. He found the perfect person who put an incredible amount of time, effort and personal sacrifice to get to know him before a trial could begin. The trial was a success and he was formally adopted in October. Huge thanks and congratulations to Dee in the dog team for her excellent work with Munchie and his adopter.

Another really pleasing adoption is Oreo; a 1-year-old male cat. Oreo (pictured next to Munchie, 2nd on the top row) has a rare condition called Knees & Teeth Syndrome (K&TS) which means he’s very delicate and prone to ongoing health challenges. We’re really grateful to his adopter for taking a chance on him and giving him all the love he deserves.

Jack and Jill (centre picture), a pair of cats, were also adopted by a very committed couple. Jill is a really nervous girl who needed lots of time to settle and this is also going very well in the home.

14 beautiful bunnies found their homes this month too, including Noodle and Chip who had been here a little too long.

Thanks very much to everyone who has adopted from us this month and to our amazing animal care team for everything they do.
